Northern Pike: Fish are being caught while jigging in and along the weeds and by throwing spinnerbaits and spoons.
Walleye: This week, I caught fish using a jig and minnow combo, I like switching to a good weedless jig like a Jack’s Jig, when myself or clients are getting too hung up in the weeds. Keep working the weed lines and slip bobber rigs in and around them.
Panfish: Perch are still being caught on jigs and slip bobber rigs alike. Crappies can be caught in the weeds under slip bobber rigs using a hook and minnow or twitching a small jig tipped with a plastic under a bobber. Bluegills are moving into the shallows and can be caught slip bobbering.
Muskie: With spawning over and fish recuperating stay shallow with smaller bucktails and small jerk baits around the new weed growth.
